The armed militia currently occupying the Malheur Wildlife National Refuge in Oregon reportedly breached a computer system at the facility and accessed personal information on employees who work there, prompting the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to advise some employees to leave their home “out of an abundance of caution,” according to a source quoted by KOIN 6 News.
A reporter from Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) witnessed members of the militia using computers, which are only accessible by employees with ID badges.
“The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has been in close communication and planning with its employees to ensure that they and their families remain safe,” KOIN 6 News quoted Fish and Wildlife spokeswoman Megan Nagel as saying. The service is “working with law enforcement and taking appropriate security precautions.”
Militia leader Ammon Bundy reportedly said his group's members had not breached the computers.
