Third-party data breach impacts Mondelez

Multinational food company Mondelez International has disclosed the compromise of personal information from 51,110 current and former employees following a data breach at one of its legal services providers, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, according to The Register. Included in the stolen data were full names, birthdates, gender, marital status, addresses, Social Security numbers, and employee identification numbers, as well as Mondelez retirement plan information, but not financial details, said Mondelez, which noted that there has been no evidence suggesting any misuse of the compromised information. Bryan Cave confirmed that it was impacted by a cybersecurity incident earlier this year, with the incident already reported to law enforcement and investigated by a cyber forensics company. "We remain able and focused on continuing to serve our clients as we resolve this matter," said the law firm, which did not provide any specifics regarding the means of compromise, the extent of data theft, and demanded ransom if any.
