The Salt Lake City School District was struck by a DDoS attack last Friday that brought down the district's website, phone system and online administrative tools.
At this point the attack has only impacted access to the computer systems and the district is not reporting any lost data.
“Student, employee, and parent data were not compromised,” Salt Lake City School District spokesman Jason Olson told SCMagazine.com in an email Tuesday.
Olson told the Deseret News that the district's IT security team is investigating the event and at this point the reason why the district was attacked is unknown.
The after effects of the attack were still being felt Monday morning with teachers and parents only having limited access to the school's computer and phone systems, Olson said.
