Second Scientology DDoSer is sentenced

A Nebraska man, who earlier this year pleaded guilty for his role in a distributed denial-of-service attack that took down the Church of Scientology website, has been sentenced to one year in federal prison. Brian Mettenbrink of Grand Island also must pay $20,000 in restitution and serve one year of supervised release after his term. Mettenbrink was part of an underground group, called Anonymous, that led protests in 2008 against the church. His accomplice, Dmitriy Guzner, a New Jersey man, pleaded guilty last year for his role in the attacks and was sentenced to one year and a day. — DK
