Symantec rolls Norton solutions into single suite

In a move aimed to keep up with the evolution of connected devices, Symantec has announced that its Norton security software will be rolled into one suite.

The new line, called Norton Security, is scheduled to go on sale on September 23 and will be available for a $80 a year subscription, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The new security suite incorporates the anti-virus, spam-monitoring and spyware features, as well as others used in versions of the company's Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security and Norton 360 products. This one-size-fits-all solution works across all Windows and Mac computers in addition to connected devices that run iOS and Android.

In a release sharing some of its first quarter fiscal year results, the company announced it intended to optimize its Norton business while “streamlining product support, and reducing our global footprint.”
