While Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's email situation has been used as a popular attack point from her opponent Donald Trump, an independent researcher found gaping holes the GOP presidential nominee's own email servers.
Independent researcher Kevin Beaumont searched public records and found The Trump Organization's corporate servers use an unsupported Windows 2003 operating system alongside an old Microsoft server management software called Internet Information Server 6.
Beaumont said in an Oct. 17 tweet the servers are “all internet accessible, single factor auth, no MDM, Win2003, no security patching,” adding he found that the Trump Organization email system failed to support two-factor authentication, according to The Register.
The Trump campaign responded to Beaumont's claim in a statement to Fortune which didn't mention the outdated software, but said the organization “deploys best in class firewall and anti-vulnerability technology” and that the infrastructure is “upgraded using current cyber security best practices.”
