U.S. vigilante hacker takes over Russian Foreign Ministry site

A self-described patriotic American vigilante hacker named Jester reportedly took over the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website on Friday in retaliation for alleged Russian cyberattacks on the United States.

"Knock it off. You may be able to push around nations around you, but this is America. Nobody is impressed,” Jester posted in a somewhat disjointed and threatening letter, reposted here on Twitter, to the Russian government. The note stated he knows they are behind recent attacks on U.S. interests. According to CNNMoney, Jester said he wanted to “poke them in the eye”.

“I know it's you, even by proxy, and you know it's you. It doesn't matter whether it's you and China, you and North Korea, or you and some random group calling themselves ‘New World Hacking' – It's still a pathetic flex..,” Jester wrote on Twitter.

The Jester has a history of similar attacks.
