As society rapidly innovates with the adoption of the Internet of Things devices, driverless vehicles and cognitive computing, companies' IT departments can have trouble keeping up.
With that in mind, what kinds of IT positions are most in demand among CISOs? The answer might surprise you, according to David Foote, co-founder, CEO and Chief Research Officer at IT market intelligence firm Foote Partners, Vero Beach, Fla.
“When I talk to CISOs, they say… ‘I can get a lot of great technological talent… and I get a lot of certified people, but what I really need is more marketing support, people who can really communicate very deeply technical things to non-technical people,'” said Foote, a speaker yesterday at SC Congress Toronto.
In other words, to ensure the buy-in and support of high-level executives who are often not particularly tech savvy or familiar with IT jargon, CISOs are increasingly reliant on good communicators who can bridge the knowledge gap between tech departments and the C-level suite.
