Cloud, security updates rolling out for Nutanix solutions

At its recent .NEXT event, software solutions provider Nutanix unveiled a range of updates coming to its products that would aid enterprises in bolstering their cybersecurity and enhance operations in multi-cloud environments, SiliconANGLE reports.

The upgrades include the addition of microsegmentation policies for applications to Nutanix's Flow Security Central tool, which uses artificial intelligence to allow for automated implementation. Through microsegmentation, enterprises can increase their protection from cybersecurity breaches by keeping applications isolated from each other. Nutanix also unveiled a security update to its Nutanix Files offering, which adds a threat detection mechanism capable of detecting and blocking over 4,000 types of ransomware.

The company is also launching the new Nutanix Data Lens data governance service, which provides IT teams with a central location from which they can monitor all unstructured data that their organizations store either in the cloud or on-premises, including the ability to determine the type of files being used and how they are being accessed.

Nutanix also announced updates to its Nutanix Era cloud-based database management tool as well as to its AOS software platform, which include the new Flow Networking network virtualization tool, which enables administrators to their on-premises network using a single interface, and a cloud disaster recovery feature.
