Former NSA Deputy Director pans Snowden film

Former NSA Deputy Director Chris Inglis called Oliver Stone's film Snowden “a hard thing to watch.”

“Not because it was revealing a truth that I want to put away, but because I was in a constant state of wonder about the misappropriation of the truth, fabrication and exaggeration that is writhed throughout the movie,” Inglis said in video interview.

He said it would have been unusual for the chief operating officer of an organization such as his ask a contractor performing regular IT work to do “Jason Bourne” like assignment as it was depicted in the move. He also disputed the content in the telephone data base and the timeline of which Snowden began releasing information.

Inglis recommended that those who are unsure of who or what to believe should turn to a report issued by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
