Medical device researcher Jay Radcliffe joins Rapid7

Jay Radcliffe, a researcher well-known for his work uncovering medical device vulnerabilities, is the latest addition to the security team at Rapid7.

The hiring of Radcliffe, who takes on the title of security consultant and researcher at the Boston-based vulnerability management and penetration testing firm, was announced Friday.

Formerly a senior security analyst at InGuardians in Washington D.C., Radcliffe gained prominence in 2011 when he demonstrated that his insulin pump was vulnerable to remote takeover at the Black Hat hacking conference.

In SC Magazine's 2013 Reboot issue, Radcliffe was named one the year's top six influential security thinkers.

The researcher joins a string of new hires at Rapid7, including Trey Ford, Black Hat's former general manager and Nick Percoco, who previously led Trustwave's SpiderLabs organization. Ford now serves as global security strategist at Rapid7, while Percoco is VP of strategic services.
