Two New York men were arrested and charged with hacking into a medical facility, stealing PII and then using it to dox 38 New Jersey public employees, most of whom were police officers.
Evan V. Koulikov, 21, of Spring Valley, New York and Eric A. Williams, 24, of New City, New York, were arrested in August and subsequently hit with a doxing charge. Koulikov additionally was charged with unlawful access of a network or database, stalking and harassment, according to a release, NJ.com reports.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit’s investigation found that Koulikov allegedly gained access to an unnamed medical services company network and obtained the PII on 50 New Jersey workers, 38 of whom were eventually doxed by posting the information online. The majority of those were police officers, reported NJ.com.
It was reported that Koulikov made 33 “harassing and/or antagonizing” calls to the doxed individuals.
