»Steve Timmerman has joined RedSeal, a Sunnyvale,Calif.-based cybersecurity certification company, as its VP of corporate marketing and business development. Timmerman's hiring goes along with the company's expansion plans as it move into new global markets. Previous to RedSeal, Timmerman worked as senior VP of marketing and broadband management at software company ASSIA. While there, he built a 90 percent market share. He's also worked at Shoretel and Proxim.

»Joe Charron (left) and Tim Killian have joined Bricata, a Vienna, Va.-based intrusion prevention system provider, as VP of marketing and VP of worldwide sales, respectively. Charron will be responsible for the company's overall global market strategy, as well as communications and promotional program execution. Previous to joining Bricata, he served as senior director of marketing and alliances for Merlin International, an IT security solutions provider. Killian will be responsible for growing Bricata's global sales organization and leading strategic planning, training and management. He previously worked at Network Associates (now Intel Security), as well as FireEye and TippingPoint (now HP).

»Mitch Bishop has joined CloudPassage, a San Francisco-based cloud security platform provider, as chief marketing officer (CMO). Bishop will help to build brand recognition and drive sales growth. Bishop previously worked as CMO at Moovweb, DNN and iRise. While at Moovweb he positioned it for a successful round of Series B funding in 2013. 

»ThreatStream, a Redwood City, Calif.-based threat intelligence platform provider, announced its new advisory board, which will guide the company on new directions. Board members now include John Stewart, SVP, chief security and trust officer at Cisco; Mercedes Westcott, VP, public sector at Cloudera; and Greg Oslan (right), founder and managing partner at OSG Consulting.

»HyTrust, a Mountain View-Calif.-based cloud security automation company, secured $33 million in new funding, including $8 million in venture debt and credit facilities from various capital firms and strategic investors. The investment is being led by AITV, and the funding will build the company's push in cloud security automation. It also will be used to boost marketing, sales and product development initiatives, as a well as expand into international markets.

»Matt Mitchell has joined Knowledge Consulting Group (KCG), a Reston, Va.-based cybersecurity services firm, as director of commercial security solutions. He will drive KCG's commercial security, compliance and risk management services. He most recently worked as KCG's director of risk assurance services. During that role, he provided security advisory services.
