CIOs from the nation's largest transit entities have formed the Transit CIO Consortium. The group will act as a forum for technology and program information exchange among CIOs. Imperva, provider of database and application security, has launched the Hacker Intelligence Initiative, a research effort designed to understand how the business of cybercrime operates. Researchers will leverage techniques, such as forum monitoring and traffic surveillance, to understand the anatomy of attacks. They plan to release findings based on what they uncover.

The reseller agreement will allow Internap to offer services from Alert Logic, such as vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection and threat management.
Immunet, maker of cloud-based anti-virus solutions, has named Zulfikar Ramzan chief scientist. He will be charged with expanding the capability of the company's cloud-based security software, including its free anti-virus offering. Ramzan formerly served as technical director and architect at Symantec.
