Title: Senior Director, Information Security
Company: Matrix Medical Network
Why nominated: Described as a consummate professional, Rebecca Winn has been lauded as a “game-changer who is ten steps ahead in developing and enforcing cybersecurity and privacy best practices and policies.
Profile: A privacy by design advocate and practitioner, Rebecca Winn has won kudos for her work at LearnVest where she was vice president of enterprise security, privacy and compliance. She drew praise from Benami Herman, co-founder of BuzzIn LLC, for making privacy “the number one concern” for employees and clients. Indeed, she sits on the Global Privacy and Security by Design (GPSbyDesign) - International Council.
At Matrix Medical Networks, she's responsible for overall security strategy, security architecture development, and security programs to ensure compliance with industry standards including SOX, HIPAA, HITECH, and HITRUST CSF requirements as well as manage corporate security risks. As the company's most senior security team member, Wynn is responsible for all data, security planning, implementation and overall security operations. She is spearheading a comprehensive security program - including crafting, implementation, continual testing and improvement.
The nature of Matrix Medical Networks' business requires that its particularly sensitive data be protected. The company's nurse practitioners visit with health plan members in their homes to gain understanding of what's need to support their care. The information gathered is vital to healthcare providers and health plan services but its sensitive and personal nature requires compliance with both privacy and security best practices and regulations.
What colleagues say: I met Rebecca roughly 10 years ago, and during that time, I have had the pleasure of getting to know her as a person, as well as speaking at many events with her. She is a global advocate of security and Privacy by Design, and has always been steps ahead of the industry. I would highly recommend Rebecca for senior leadership and executive roles, as well as speaking engagements in governance, regulations, global security, risk and privacy. I look forward to continuing to see grow in global influence, while reaching out to groups on a personal level. She is very engaging, and her light shines bright wherever she goes!
