Rebecca Wynn, Head of information security and DPO, senior director, Matrix Medical Network

Much like Matrix Medical Network's nurse practitioners assess the health of their patients, Rebecca Wynn is constantly evaluating the well-being of the healthcare company's security posture.

Matrix, which provides patients across the U.S. access to in-home medical assessments, currently offers a network of 6,000 providers across all 50 states. As MMN's head of information security and data protection officer, senior director, Wynn is tasked with ensuring that Matrix's enterprise systems are safeguarded at all times, and all customer and business data remains inaccessible to unauthorized parties.

Since joining the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company in March 2017, Wynn has planned, developed, implemented and tested Matrix's security program, all while striving to meet a myriad of compliance requirements for such standards as SOX, HIPAA, HITECH, and HITRUST CSF.

Such efforts are even more challenging when also contending with the complications of a corporate merger. But those are exactly the conditions Wynn successfully overcame in her previous position as the VP of enterprise security, privacy and compliance at LearnVest, a subscription-based program designed to help people make progress on their money. While at LearnVest, Wynn fulfilled her responsibilities before, during and after the company's acquisition by Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Wynn has over 17 years of experience in information security and related fields, and was named the 2017 Cybersecurity Professional of the Year by the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards.

“Rebecca is a consummate professional who is always ten steps ahead,” said Calista Quintalti, director of strategic partnerships at LearnVest, in a 2016 LinkedIn recommendation. “Rebecca has made LearnVest's online and offline security top-notch and constantly goes the extra mile to ensure her colleagues are informed [and] following protocols, and that the business is secure.”
