The U.K.-based online photo postcard service Touchnote has notified its registered customers that the company has been hacked and some personal information has possibly been compromised.
How many victims? Unknown at this time.
What type of information? – The company the information compromised included names, email addresses, postal addresses and Touchnote order histories. Additionally, a few birthdates have also been accessed.
What happened? On November 4 the company confirmed it had been victimized by criminal activity, although how accessed was gained has not yet been released.
What was the response? – Touchnote said it has been reviewing its security measures and updating its system infrastructure. In addition, the company has contacted the National Cyber Crime Unit. Registered customers are also being contacted and told to change their site passwords.
Details? The company said none of the compromised information was financially sensitive, adding the only customer credit card information retained are the last four digits of the payment cards.
