Webroot, an internet security provider, has appointed Chris Benham as chief marketing officer, and Kenton Sieckman as vice president of worldwide service and support. Benham, a former Symantec marketing executive, is charged with developing and executing a brand-building strategy.
Accuvant, an information security and compliance consultancy, has named Doug Landoll director of its risk and compliance practice. He is charged with overseeing the company’s strategic risk and compliance management initiatives. Previously, Landoll served as founder and chief strategist of Lantego, another consulting firm.
Facebook and McAfee have teamed up to provide security protection for the social networking site’s 350 million users. Under the partnership, McAfee will offer its internet security suite software free to Facebook users for six months, as well as a tool to clean up compromised accounts. In addition, the two companies will collaborate to create educational content to appear on Facebook.
DVTel, which develops and delivers IP-based security systems, has acquired ioimage, provider of video analytics. DVTel made the deal to grow its portfolio so it can meet the needs of the market, namely an increase in the number of third-party analytics solutions integrated with DVTel’s enterprise-level systems.

Verizon Business and Motorola have partnered to unveil a managed wireless security service that will be offered through Verizon’s Framework for Retail, a new technology platform designed for merchants to improve their IT performance and augment their business processes. The platform will leverage Motorola AirDefense wireless security products, designed to protect wireless local area networks (WLAN).
CA has acquired Oblicore, provider of service-level management software for enterprises and service providers. The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, enables CA to offer a solution that sets, measures and optimizes service levels to meet expectations across enterprise and cloud infrastructures.
