Jeens takes helm at nCipher

nCipher has announced Robert Jeens has been appointed as non-executive chairman of the board.

Jeens, who previously worked for Touche Ross & Co, Kleinwort Benson Group and Woolwich, will immediately fill the position. He has replaced Ossama Hassanein, who has retired after nine years at the organization.

The appointment amid the firm's 10th anniversary and an announcement that it will be responsible for securing passenger data in the new biometric check-in system at London's Heathrow airport.

"Digital data is no more sensitive than it was 10 years ago, but there is a greater amount of it and even more people want access to it from any location, so business agility has become the name of the game," said Alex van Someren, nCipher CEO. "The challenge for many companies is to open their internal systems for greater flexibility while recognizing the high level of scrutiny and regulatory pressure around the privacy and integrity of personal and corporate information."
