$1M Cyber Resiliency Fund launched to support security operations impacted by pandemic

New York, NY, October 19, 2020 – Cybersecurity Collaborative, a membership organization for senior cybersecurity leaders to share expertise and work together on complex enterprise security challenges, alongside parent company CyberRisk Alliance, today announced the creation of a $1M fund to assist organizations whose cybersecurity resources have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The fund includes a limited number of complimentary memberships for academic and public sector organizations and makes grants available to commercial sector organizations to subsidize 50% of first year membership dues in the Cybersecurity Collaborative.

The pandemic has brought new information security threats to organizations of all sizes, at the same time as economic conditions have constrained budgets in technology and cybersecurity areas. The Cyber Resiliency Fund is intended to help companies access immediate cybersecurity resources and tools that address top priorities such as ransomware, phishing and securing work-from-home environments.

Cybersecurity Collaborative provides members a wide range of strategic, technical and leadership development benefits, including access to a private library of over 150 CISO-developed policy documents and guidance frameworks, and the ability to convene a “CISO Rapid Response team” of peers to advise on real-time business issues. The organization is led by an Executive Committee of leaders from respected companies with exceptional security operations, including YUM! Brands, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, American Family Insurance, JP Morgan Chase, and others.

This fund adds to existing programs designed to facilitate access to the Collaborative’s resources, including a strategic partnership with the National Association of Counties (NACo) which offers subsidies to support state and local government enrollment in the Collaborative.

Cybersecurity Collaborative Executive Director, Parham Eftekhari commented, “The Office of the Director of National Intelligence calls for a “Whole of Nation” approach to defending our economy from cyber threats. It’s a privilege to announce this fund and create an opportunity to materially

support those organizations faced with decreased budgets at a time when adversarial efforts are on the rise.”

The new fund is supported by CyberRisk Alliance, an integrated provider of content, event, digital media and peer collaboration services to the cybersecurity community. John Whelan, CyberRisk Alliance President said, “Helping cybersecurity leaders raise the effectiveness of their operations is central to our mission. We recognize that it is a difficult time for many organizations to invest in new security resources, so are pleased to offer this fund to make the Collaborative’s important services more accessible.”

Cyber Resilience Fund grants are available through December 31, 2020. Technology and security leaders interested in applying on behalf of their organization should contact [email protected].
