Following an out of band update issued last week for Acrobat and Reader, Adobe today released “important” rated patches for Adobe DigitalEditions and Adobe Connect as part of its normal Patch Tuesday update.
The Digital Editions vulnerability, CVE-2018-12817, is an out of bounds read that if left unpatched could lead to information disclosure. Affected product versions are 4.5.9 and below for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Adobe is recommending users update to version 4.5.10 to mitigate the problem.
The Adobe Connect issue, CVE-2018-19718, is a session token exposure problem that can lead to the exposure of the privileges granted to a session. The flaw affects Connect version 9.8.1 and earlier on all platforms and can be fixed by updating to version 10.1.
Adobe’s January Patch Tuesday revelations were a far cry from last month when it covered 87 CVEs, 39 of which were rated critical.
