Attempted access to Fast Forward Academy systems puts data at risk

Florida-based exam preparation company Fast Forward Academy is notifying an undisclosed number of individuals that an unauthorized person attempted to access its systems, which store partner and customer information.

How many victims? Undisclosed. Fast Forward Academy did not respond to a request for the information. 

What type of personal information? Names, addresses, email addresses, payment account numbers, and Social Security numbers provided on W9s.

What happened? An unauthorized person attempted to access Fast Forward Academy's systems, which stored partner and customer information.

What was the response? Fast Forward Academy implemented new security measures to ensure the confidentiality of personal information. All impacted individuals are being notified, and offered a free year of identity protection and/or credit monitoring services.

Details: Fast Forward Academy learned on Dec. 3, 2014, of the unauthorized attempt to access its systems.

Quote: “While we have no evidence that any of your personal information was accessed or misused in any manner, we are taking appropriate precautionary measures to ensure your financial security and help alleviate concerns you may have,” according to a notification sent to customers.
