Company news: Nancy Reynold joins Kaspersky, plus changes at Arcsight and Sourcefire

Nancy Reynolds (left) has joined anti-virus vendor Kaspersky Lab as senior vice president of corporate sales. She is charged with managing the channel program for the Americas. Reynolds previously worked at Dell, where she was tasked with developing the company's enterprise channel strategy, and at Trend Micro. Kaspersky also has named Dan Burke vice president of U.S. sales.

Prescott Winter (right) has been appointed public sector CTO at ArcSight, maker of compliance management solutions. Winter's role will be driving strategic product initiatives and industry relationships involving federal and international cybersecurity requirements. Winter, former CIO and CTO at the National Security Agency, also will work to facilitate collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Sourcefire, maker of intrusion prevention systems, has partnered with Immunet, an anti-virus start-up, to deliver ClamAV for Windows. The offering is designed to provide the open-source ClamAV community with a free Windows-specific anti-virus product that leverages cloud-based technology from Immunet and detects threats in real time.

GFI Software, maker of network security products, has updated its channel program. The company now will be offering free membership and benefits, such as a new deal registration program, training and technical support. Also, the program includes profit opportunities, sales incentives and improved communications.

Yuval Ben-Itzhak has joined AVG's Virus Research Lab to serve as senior VP of engineering. He formerly served as CTO of Finjan, now part of M86 Security, where he led the company's vision, strategy, innovation, IP and technology. In addition, AVG has added two other researchers to its team to assist with detecting threats and preventing exploits.

Start-up eCert has partnered with Google, Yahoo and a number of major banks to launch its email authentication service. eCert leverages a centralized service that registers, maintains and monitors domains that send email, and shares that information with email service providers. Membership in the service is open to financial institutions and those companies regularly exposed to phishing and brand abuse.

nuBridges, provider of application and database encryption, has formed the Tokenization Standards Group to develop industry best practices for the tokenization data security model. The goal is for tokenization providers to collaborate on creating a single standard designed to ensure a high level of security and interoperability.
