How many victims? At least 4,400.
What type of personal information? Names, birthdates, Social Security numbers and compensation data.
What happened? The stolen laptop was password protected but contained the personal information for every Williams employee since Jan. 1, 2007. It was stolen from an employee’s car last Tuesday.
What was the response? Notification letters were sent, stating that Williams will pay for one year free crediting monitoring. In addition, Williams said it will would take additional security steps to prevent future breaches.
