Brand Damage More Concerning to Organizations Than Cyber Attacks, Study Says

By Marcos Colon

The survey conducted by the Ponemon Institute and sponsored by risk intelligence firm RiskVision, “The Imperative to Raise Enterprise Risk Intelligence,” asked 641 individuals involved in risk management activities within their business about their activity and concerns when it comes to managing risk.

A majority of respondents (63 percent) shared that their biggest fear stemming from their inability to manage risk would be reputational damage, while security breaches tied business disruption for second, even though data breaches typically lead to a reputational hit for companies.

Of the individuals surveyed, only 24 percent indicated that their organization had a risk management strategy in place, while one-third had no defined strategy at all.
