Checkpoint acquires Protego

Check Point has acquired the Israeli-start up Protego.

Check Point reported it will integrate that company’s serverless security technology into its Infinity architecture that supports networks, mobile, endpoint, IoT and cloud environments.

The deal is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2019 and will be integrated into Check Point during the first quarter of 2020. The financial details of the acquisition were not released.

“On their journey to cloud transformation, organizations require a new security paradigm to protect against 5th and 6th generation of cyberattacks” said Dr. Dorit Dor, Check Point’s VP Products. “By incorporating serverless security into our market leading CloudGuard portfolio and leveraging our comprehensive platform for cloud security and compliance, we deliver unprecedented protection across multi-cloud and Hybrid environments.”
