Mount Union College selects Enterasys for network protection

Mount Union College has implemented Enterasys' Secure Networks solution, Enterasys said Wednesday.

Located in Alliance, Ohio, Mount Union has 2,100 students, 125 faculty members and 200 staff accessing the network from a variety of devices.

Tina Stuchell, director of IT for Mount Union, said in a prepared statement that Enterasys provides a consolidated solution that meets students' needs while allowing IT staffers to centrally manage bandwidth and enforce acceptable use policy.

Mount Union deployed Enterasys Matrix switches, XSR routers, and NetSight Atlas Automated Security Manager software. NetSight Atlas reviews security events detected by Enterasys Dragon Intrusion Response, locates the port on the Matrix switch that is the source of the attack, and stops the attack.

The college also uses a secure identification card system throughout campus and has secure wireless capability in three buildings. It plans to expand that wireless capability over the entire campus in the next year.
