The Taiwanese media has reported that Chinese hackers have infiltrated classified data of Taiwan’s President Chen Shui-Bian.

According to reports, the hackers broke into office at the headquarters of the Democratic Progressive Party.

The reports quoted a cabinet official, who claimed the attack was an act of cyberwar. Apparently, the hackers accessed files on US government negotiations as well as other classified data.

Chen is unpopular in mainland China because he has been linked with plans to make the island an independent state.
