Trump Administration Receives Recommendations From (ISC)²

By Marcos Colon

In an effort to emphasize workforce development within cybersecurity, (ISC)² delivered a series of recommendations to President Trump.

The nonprofit organization known for providing information security education and certifications, was represented by its Regional Managing Director of the North American Region, Dan Waddell.

In remarks to White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, Waddell urged the administration to act swiftly, consider the progress that has already been made, and to work toward bolstering the workforce.

“Everyone must learn cybersecurity,” Waddell wrote in a recent blog post highlighting his recommendations. “We have to break the commodity focus of simply buying technology and stopping there, without focusing on training all users.”

Additional recommendations included the expansion of training, and leveraging financial incentives to build a stronger federal cybersecurity workforce that can also attract talent from the private sector.
