In its latest security update, Google has addressed a total of 30 vulnerabilities in its Chrome browser, five of which were given a “high” severity rating.
The Stable Channel Update fixed vulnerabilities in the browser running on Windows, Mac, and Linux desktops, according to a Google release.
The high-severity bugs included two vulnerabilities found in the open source JavaScript engine Google uses for Chrome, V8, as well as address spoofing in Omnibox, use after free in print preview, and use after free in Apps Bluetooth.
A total of $23,500 was paid out to external researchers for discovering the flaws, with the top prize of $7,500 awarded for the type confusion vulnerability in V8, according to a Threat Post report.
In addition to the security patches issued, the update also included non-security adjustments such as the ability to push native macOS notifications, and a new Chrome Settings page.
