Salo Fajer, CTO at Digital Guardian, passed away on July 24. The company's CEO Ken Levine, said "working at any company without him would have been inconceivable for me," and praised Fajer's drive to excellence and can-do spirit as central to the success of the company. Fajer previously served as CTO at Nitro Security and McAfee.
Thomas James Schauer passed away on July 10. After stints at Deloitte and Guardent, Tom became the founder and CEO of TrustCC in 2000, where he built a thriving business serving financial institutions across the country with IT audits, security assessments and compliance consulting.
Bill Zalud passed away on Aug. 8. A 30-year veteran of the security industry, he was editor emeritus of Security magazine at the time of his death, and he also was an editor at SDM magazine throughout his career.
