Students improperly view file that contained personal data

A file containing the personal information of current and former Colorado State University-Pueblo students was accessed last spring by unauthorized users.

How many victims? About 19,000.

What type of personal information? Unspecified.

What happened? Last spring, a group of students improperly viewed the file. No data was altered or believed stolen.

What was the response? Victims were notified by letter.

Quote: "We believe the data exposure to be minimal, but we are taking the high road here and notifying any individuals who may have been affected," said Cora Zaletel, a university spokeswoman.
