Office, Unified Access Gateway to see fixes from Microsoft

Microsoft is prepping three patches for next week's monthly security update, the software giant announced Thursday.

The fixes address 11 vulnerabilities in Office and Unified Access Gateway, which provides secure remote access as part of Microsoft's Forefront portfolio.

One of the bulletins is rated "critical," while the other two carry an "important" designation, according to the advance notification bulletin.

In a blog post, Angela Gunn, public relations manager of response communications at Microsoft, did not provide any more details about the planned patches.

Users will have to wait for a fix to a zero-day Internet Explorer vulnerability, revealed on Wednesday

Next week's fixes jive with a recent pattern in which Microsoft alternates between light and heavy patch loads. October marked a record-setting month that saw 16 fixes for 49 flaws.
