2022 SC Awards Finalists: Deal of the Year

In March 2021, CrowdStrike acquired Humio, a leading provider of high-performance cloud log management and observability technology. With the acquisition, CrowdStrike further expanded its Extended Detection and Response (XDR) capabilities by ingesting and correlating data from any log, application or feed to deliver actionable insights and real-time protection. CrowdStrike took a very personal approach to the Humio acquisition, which was challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the entirety of the deal was conducted over the phone and Zoom, CrowdStrike spent time studying Danish culture (Humio is a Danish-based company) and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to emphasize CrowdStrike’s culture of inclusivity. CrowdStrike assured Humio that it would not just respect, but invest in the very exceptional solution they had built while also finding unique ways to apply it across CrowdStrike’s product portfolio.

Momentum Cyber advised on the merger of two award-winning cybersecurity solutions providers, Fishtech Group and Herjavec Group, who announced their merger on Dec. 30, 2021. Momentum acted as exclusive financial and strategic advisor to Fishtech Group on this deal and previously advised Herjavec Group on its February 2021 acquisition by Apax Funds. This deal created a cyber services powerhouse offering a suite of best-in-class managed detection and response (MDR), professional services, and identity offerings with a global perspective to address enterprise customers’ increasingly complex information security needs.
