Google is to acquire web-based encryption and archiving software company Postini in a $625 million (£310 million) deal. Postini sells its products to more than 35,000 businesses and 10m users worldwide. The acquisition is expected to be completed later this year. Google already bought DoubleClick and YouTube earlier this year, paying $3.1 billion (£1.5 billion) and $1.65 billion (£807 million) respectively. -;

- RFID specialist Assa Abloy Identification Technologies (ITG) hasacquired Aontec, an Irish-based manufacturer of inlays for securedelectronic documents. Juan Garcia, CEO of ITG, said: "This acquisitionenables us to expand into new geographical markets and further grow ourmarket share." -;

- Mobile has signed a three-year deal with technology security companySecurEnvoy. The contract enables T-Mobile's remote employees to gainsecure access to corporate systems via their mobile phones, using theSecurAccess two-factor authentication solution. -;

- Oracle's universal content management and information rightsmanagement systems have been chosen by the Renault Formula 1 team tomanage and secure their critical documents. -;

- French information security solutions vendor Arkoon Network Securityhas joined forces with Commtouch Software. Commtouch will provideanti-spam protection to Arkoon's FAST360 unified threat managementcustomers across Europe. -;

- AEP Networks is to provide UK legal practice Michelmores with a secureremote access system. AEP's Netilla Security Platform and SSL VPNappliance will be deployed across the law firm. -;
