According to McAfee, huge differences exist between the safety ofdifferent domain names - for example, one in ten sites ending in.tk, forthe tiny island of Tokelau, contains malicious code, popups or otheronline irritations. However, no malicious code was found on USgovernment sites (.gov).
The company tested millions of websites in 265 top-level domains -morethan 95 per cent of the trafficked web - via its SiteAdvisor product.
