We found this appliance to be a little tricky to install and deploy. The deployment is done through a network tap at the head end of the network behind the firewall. Once the tool is placed into the network, the various network servers need to be configured to work with the appliance while policy needs to be defined on the appliance itself. All management is done through the well-organized and easy-to-navigate web GUI, but configuration of the appliance is done manually with no help from wizards or checklists.
This appliance can scan many different protocols and work with external tools, such as third-party encryption products, which adds to the product's flexibility. Endpoints, such as client workstations, are also constantly monitored by the appliance through use of an easily deployed CI Agent.
Documentation included several installation and administrator's guides. All were well organized with step-by-step instructions and screen shots.
The company offers various support options and fee-based plans. These provide various levels of phone and email technical support, as well as hardware warranties. Customers also get access to an online support portal available on the website.
At a price of $10,000 for 50 users, this tool is a good value for the money. We find it provides solid scanning capability and flexible policy options to ensure that sensitive data is contained throughout the organization.
