Installation and deployment of this item is a fairly straightforward process. The initial installation is done through running an executable that can be downloaded from the website. This executable installs the server and other components. At the completion of the setup, all management is done via a console application.
At first login to the management console, there is some initial configuration that must be done, as well as adding devices to the system, but once all the initial configuration is complete, the product is up and ready to go. We found the console to be easy to navigate for the most part. One thing we particularly liked is the added benefit of some built-in extra functions, such as the Change Management Utility, which can easily identify planned or unplanned changes to the environment. These can then be grouped for more granular control of devices.
Documentation included a PDF administrator guide that featured detailed setup, configuration and installation information with many screen shots and step-by-step examples.
As part of an annual agreement, New Net offers customers phone and email support, as well as an online help area.
At a price starting at around $8,000 for just 10 nodes, this product comes with a hefty price tag. We find it is an average value for the money. While it does have quite a nice feature set, we find it can be quite costly overall.
