Trustwave provides end-to-end managed security services to protect against common malware, spam, phishing, zero-day threats, botnets and even fraud and insider abuse.
The company’s offerings can be purchased alone or as part of a package. Trustwave’s managed unified threat management (UTM) service includes firewall, inline intrusion prevention system (IPS), gateway anti-virus, virtual private network (VPN), web content filtering and remote access control.
Trustwave’s managed intrusion detection service (IDS) provides sensor tuning, ongoing device management and signature updates, continuous event identification, response and escalation and event tracking.
Trustwave’s managed NAC solution is designed to protect the network interior from unknown, unauthorized and infected endpoints, as well as from ill-intentioned or negligent users. When devices attempt to gain access to the network, Trustwave’s managed NAC immediately identifies the endpoint and runs policy checks to determine whether the device is infected and whether it complies with the security policies in the network.
All services run a common hardware and proprietary software platform, completely owned and maintained by Trustwave. The managed solutions are deployed on small office/home office (SOHO) and 1U network appliance devices.
We liked the mailMax capability that could look inside file attachments, including graphic formats for data leakage concerns, such as SSNs and credit card numbers. As the email relay, mailMax can support encrypted messages between the client email server and its hosted environment, run its analysis, and re-encrypt the message for transport to the message destination. Message archiving is also available for inbound and outbound messages. The only thing that we did not like is the lack of integration of the various consoles. Each console is independent and some have different looks and features.
