More IT pros leaving employers for greener pastures

TechRepublic reports that 53% of IT professionals expressed being extremely or somewhat likely to seek employment elsewhere within the next year as more seek increased diversity, equity, and inclusion, greater development and growth, and improved corporate sustainability and transparency compared with only 23% who were either somewhat or extremely unlikely to do so. Higher compensation, inadequate training and development, and work-life imbalance were the most cited reasons by IT professionals who have already jumped ship, according to a Skillsoft report, which also showed that corporate management, pay and opportunity inequity, and lacking corporate resources were also reasons behind employees' transfer to other companies. The study also showed that nearly 50% of surveyed IT professionals chose to take on a different role within the same company, most of whom did so for growth and development opportunities. Meanwhile, talent retention and recruitment have been named by respondents as the most significant workplace challenges.
