Nutanix unveils universal cloud operating model

During its recent conference in Chicago, Nutanix announced a new cloud-delivered solution called Nutanix Central that provides monitoring, visibility, reporting, and management capabilities across various types of environments all via a unified console, ComputerWeekly reports. The new solution is expected to assist enterprises in managing whatever disparate collections of edge, public cloud, and on-premises environments that they may be operating, which may increase security risks, costs, and management silos, according to the company. With Nutanix Central, we will extend our hybrid multi-cloud platform to deliver a truly universal cloud operating model to include consistent management across public clouds, on-premises, hosted, and edge environments, said Thomas Cornely, Nutanix's senior vice president of product management. The company says the offering can be applied to a variety of use cases including federated Identity and Access Management and global fleet management. Nutanix also unveiled upgrades to its Nutanix Cloud Platform, including Flow Virtual Networking and Flow Network Security capabilities to deliver software-defined networking and streamlined micro-segmentation functions across users networks to heighten their cyber resilience. All of the new features can be accessed via Nutanix Central.
