Apple must face suit over iMessages, judge says

A federal judge has ordered Apple to face a lawsuit in which the plaintiff claims she was blocked from receiving text messages when she switched from an iPhone to an Android phone.

The suit, brought by Adrienne Moore, accuses Apple of failing to reveal that iOS would block delivery of those messages when a user made the switch to a non-Apple device, according to a report by Reuters.

Moore, who wants the suit to be a class-action, claims that by blocking messages, Apple interfered with her contract with Verizon Wireless, the provider she continued to use after moving from an iPhone 4 to a Samsung Galaxy S5.

Ruled that Moore should have the opportunity to prove her wireless contract was affected and that by blocking her messages, Apple violated California's unfair competition law.
