Bahamian man accused of hacking celebrity emails pleaded guilty

A Bahamian man accused of hacking into celebrities' emails to steal unreleased scripts, movies, television shows, sexually explicit videos and personal information pleaded guilty Monday in a U.S. Southern District Court of New York to criminal copyright infringement of scripts of movies and television shows that had not yet aired, as well as identity theft of personal identification information, according to a Department of Justice press release.

Under the plea deal, Alonzo Knowles, 23, agreed to forfeit $1,900, 25 unpublished movies, TV scripts and copies of unpublished music found on his DropBox account, according to Reuters.

He also forfeited his rights to appeal any sentence below 33 months in prison, Reuters said.

Knowles faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and six years of supervised release and is scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 25.
