A California man was convicted and sentenced for posting nude photos of his ex-girlfriend online, marking the first conviction under the state's new ‘revenge porn' law.
Noe Iniguez, 36, was found guilty of three criminal counts, which included two restraining order violations as well as a violation of the revenge porn statute, an Office of the City Attorney press release said. Iniguez allegedly posted derogatory comments about his ex-girlfriend on her employer's Facebook page, then posted a topless photo of her there, along with a message that called her a “drunk” and a “slut.” He also encouraged her firing from the company.
Iniguez was sentenced to one year in jail, as well as 36 months' probation. He must also attend domestic violence counseling and stay away from the victim, who already had a restraining order filed against him in 2011.
