Chief Brigadier General Kamal Hadianfar of the Iranian cyber police force FATA said at a Monday press conference that the person spreading the rumor that Daesh (ISIS) might poses a cyber threat to Iran has been identified and admonished by FATA.

According to a report by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Hadianfar said 132 websites linked to the terror group had been identified and shutdown. He noted that FATA has been monitoring the activity of certain internet links to shutter any pages that publicized or supported Daesh.

The person caught spreading the rumor about the so-called Daesh threat admitted his mistake, Hadianfar said, but claimed not to have done anything illegal.
