Microsoft updated its Azure Arc platform by adding machine learning capabilities to support data services that are enabled by Arc, reports TechRadar.
The platform enables users to manage servers and Kubernetes clusters across edge, on-premises and multi-cloud devices, and with other cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.
“Customers tell us a key challenge with hybrid and multicloud adoption is managing and securing their IT environments while building and running cloud-native applications,” said Microsoft Azure General Manager Arpan Shah.
He added that with the addition of ML capabilities, "customers can train ML models directly where the data lives using their existing infrastructure investments. This reduces data movement while meeting security and compliance requirements.”
The company also announced during its Ignite conference that the Azure Arc enabled Kubernetes is now generally available to its customers, and that VMware Tanzu and Nutanix Karbon are now a part of supported Kubernetes distributions.
