Michael Fey, who was previously the CTO at Intel Security (a business unit formed by Intel and McAfee) has taken on a leadership role at Blue Coat Systems.
On Thursday, Sunnyvale, Calif.-based enterprise security firm Blue Coat announced that Fey was named as its new president and chief operating officer (COO). In the role, Fey will be charged with helping to align Blue Coat's web security, encryption management and cloud offerings, as well as its advanced threat protection solutions, a release from the company said. The security expert will also manage field and customer-facing business operations, according to Blue Coat.
Fey will report to Blue Coat's CEO Greg Clark, and assume the duties of David Murphy, who will remain a strategic advisor to Clark and the company's board of directors.
