Norse, a Silicon Valley-based live attack intelligence firm, has been awarded a $1.9 million contract, which will allow the firm to support the Department of Energy's security efforts.
The contract will specifically provide DOE with “comprehensive live threat intelligence solutions, services and key integrations,” that will bolster the agency's Cybersecurity Risk Information Sharing Program (CRISP), a release from Norse said.
“The contract calls for Norse to provide national critical infrastructure owners and operators in the energy sector with live cyber threat detection, proactive mitigation and reporting capabilities,” the announcement said.
For the initiative, Norse will work with FireEye, integrating its live attack intelligence solutions with FireEye's hardware, the company added. CRISP, a public-private partnership, was co-funded by DOE's Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability as well as the industry so that operators could efficiently share cyber threat data.
