Fifty-nine percent of CISOs agreed that boards of directors are primarily concerned about risk quantification and balancing against costs, according to the survey. Meanwhile, CISOs' most common problems included regulatory compliance, professional knowledge gaps and hackers. CISOs also cited threat intelligence processing, vulnerability management and COVID-19 pandemic-related issues as the biggest knowledge gaps. However, 97% said they are anticipating growth in their cybersecurity teams, suggesting increasing cybersecurity awareness and funding.
"Threat intelligence is quickly becoming the epicenter of key cybersecurity programs including vulnerability management, yet one in three CISOs identifies threat intelligence and one out of five identifies vulnerability management as their biggest blindspots," said Cybersixgill Chief Marketing Officer Meira Primes.
