Mozilla has entered the pre-beta phase for testing an improved private browsing feature for Firefox, the company said in a recent blog post.
The concept is that whenever a private browsing window is opened, Firefox will seek out and block any attempt by the page to grab user data.
“The experimental private browsing enhancements ready for testing today actively block website elements that could be used to record user behavior across sites,” the blog stated. “This includes elements like content, analytics, social and other services that might be collecting data without your knowledge.”
If the user feels comfortable doing so then the aforementioned elements can be unblocked.
Mozilla noted in the blog that add-on verification – a feature that began gaining momentum with the release of Firefox 40 – is being enforced by default in pre-beta Firefox.
